Celebrating 10 Years of Alleon Group
Ten years ago, Courtney Allen and Todd Leonard—longtime colleagues and friends—took a leap from the corporate world into a new chapter in consulting, building what would become Alleon Group. Fittingly, the name Alleon was born by bringing together their last names, Allen and Leonard, into one.
Over the past decade, that leap has created opportunities to partner with retail giants, insurance corporations, human capital management enterprises, and many other organizations across industries. Along the way, Alleon Group has built a strong network and worked with individuals both in the United States and across the world. As we celebrate this 10-year milestone, we are proud to reflect on the relationships, experiences, and growth that have shaped our journey.
Serving Our Customers for a Decade
Over the last 10 years, Alleon Group has proudly served more than 70 clients across a diverse range of industries, including Insurance, Financial Services, Human Capital Management, Retail, Dining, and Healthcare Device Manufacturing. Through core services such as Business Process Optimization, Supplier Relationship Management, and Go-to-Market Strategies, the firm has helped clients achieve meaningful results—including more than $65 million in savings through process optimization and supplier relationship management efforts. This has helped us drive a staggering 23% average ROI for its customers.
During this time, Alleon Group has also invested in future talent by creating six internship programs for high school and college students. In addition, Alleon Group has continued to grow its own leadership team with the addition of Alex Leonard as a Partner, bringing the firm to three partners, and Brad Watkins as Director of Client Engagement.

Hear From the Founders
It’s hard to believe… Alleon just hit the 10-year mark.
What started as a “crazy idea” between Todd and me has turned into a decade-long journey that’s challenged, stretched, and ultimately shaped who we are—both professionally and personally. Todd and I have known each other for over 35 years (yes—met him when I was 19… seriously), so taking this leap together came with a foundation of trust, history, and probably just enough confidence to not overthink how big of a risk it really was.
Walking away from established careers to build something from the ground up wasn’t a small decision. At the time, my wife Melissa—my partner of 30 years—was all in, even with one kid in 5th grade and our two others in 9th. That kind of support isn’t something you take lightly. Our families were right there with us—encouraging, believing, and every now and then probably wondering if we were just a little bit crazy. Fair enough.
Over the years, what’s stood out most isn’t just the work—it’s the relationships. The clients who took a chance on us, trusted us, and partnered with us to grow and transform. The team members who believed in the vision, pushed us to be better, and helped build something far beyond what we imagined at the start.
If I had to distill the last 10 years into a few simple ideas, it would be this:
- Focused on building something meaningful.
- Trust earned through every client relationship.
- Humbled by the people who believed in us.
Has it been easy? Not even close.
Would I do it all over again? Without hesitation.
I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who has been part of this journey—especially those who supported us from day one.
Excited for what’s ahead.

"The most rewarding part of our history is our client relationships"
Ten years ago this month Courtney Allen and I founded Alleon Group. When we began, I had just wrapped up writing my first book about strategic sourcing, The Other Side of the Table, which became a key resource for Alleon’s process. The premise of the consulting firm was that we would help clients improve their business processes, outsource where that was the best option, create go-to-market strategies and coach on strategic selling. We had no idea if the business would work, but knew we wanted to take a chance. Boy I am glad we did! We landed our first client and before I blinked, 10 years has passed.
The most rewarding part of our history is our client relationships and helping them realize results we build together. It doesn’t mean it was always an easy path. There were challenging days and learnings along the way. But in the end we prevailed and built a great consulting firm while partnering with incredible clients.
Thank you to our clients for believing in Alleon Group. Many might be surprised to know we often learn as much or more from our clients as they do from us. We also owe a great deal of gratitude to Alleon’s partners and associates. The only products we bring are our integrity and subject matter expertise. We are indeed a people business.
Here’s to the next 10 years!
Closing Thoughts
As Alleon Group marks 10 years, this milestone is about far more than numbers—it’s about the people, partnerships, and shared belief that better outcomes are possible when insight meets action. From the earliest leap of faith to the trusted relationships built over the years, the journey has been shaped by curiosity, integrity, and a commitment to helping clients navigate change with confidence.
The next chapter carries that same spirit forward. With a growing team, deepened expertise, and continued investment in future talent, Alleon Group remains focused on delivering practical solutions, meaningful collaboration, and lasting impact. To our clients, partners, and team members who have been part of this journey—thank you for trusting us, challenging us, and growing with us. We look forward to what we’ll build together in the years ahead.
